Best targets for load development/groups

I was wondering what others use? I have a 6-24 power scope. I tried shoot and see dots with a 1/4 bullseye, and I feel like the center dot is too big and I couldn't replicate the exact point of aim. Then I tried one inch boxes with Xs in them. And aimed for a corner. Didn't like that too much. Any suggestions?

Just dial a mil down or up, aim and shoot. You shouldn't be hitting your aim spot anymore.

Plain white paper or cardboard with small stick on dots regularly but widely spaced. makes it easy to see though the scope. Cheap too.

I like lable stickers on a plane white paper easy to see out to 400 yards and you can get them in tons of colors as well as different sizes best of all they are cheap ( inexpensive) .

and show your support for breast cancer awareness at the same time .

Good call guys. Just found some 1/8 inch and 1/4 dots. For 1/4 the price of shoot and see targets. I'll get the bigger ones for shooting out further.

I personally like plain paper with 1/2” dots. If you have trouble with dots try backing off the magnification a little bit and get a larger target with a grid/diamond/square on it. Then you can use the whole reticle on the larger poa vs struggling to hold on a tiny target.

So here you’d just divide the diamond with your reticle vs trying to hold center-on-center. This is much easier for some ppl and can help keep your mind/eyes from getting all jacked up.

With my shooting ability I doubt I'll ever be "good." Lol. I'll give that a go. Just try them all and see what I like best.

Scrap cardboard and a sharpie is perfect. And damn near free.

Make it easy on yourself and print out the dot drill targets. The .22 ones for 25 and 50 yards work good.

Watch for closeout gift wrapping, much of it is marked like graph paper on the backside.

I like having a waterline for testing to see change in POI , etc . . I use sticky dots of different sizes depending on distance and scope reticle . I use a sharpie to define the edge , I find certain color dots wash out so the black ring keeps me focused .

I'm still partial to the benchrest targets.
These:

I shoot the center mothball.
You can hold center or even 6:00.
The black square is a holdover from the wayback machine, but it's pretty good for low powered optics.

The above target has 6 to an 8-1/2×11" sheet.
