Best way to camo a rifle

Hey guys savage 110 and figured I might camo it just for the he'll of it ways to the best way to go about doing this with spray paint and what are some of the patterns y'all used thanks or the help I just didn't want it to start coming off while was shooting it what steps are nessacery to do it right and with what products should I use

Krylon makes a "camouflage" series of paints which are ultra flat. As to techniques, Youtube has a surprising number of airsoft ninjas painting their toys, some of them are pretty good tutorials for how to accomplish it.

i did that with my tripod and added a layer of flat clear spray paint lacquer too to keep it from rubbing off. Definately a good extra step cause that Krylone and Rustoleum Camo paint rubs off relatively easy.

That tutorial posted is spot-on. A couple years ago on another forum a guy wanted tips on painting a rifle, so I grabbed one out of the safe and painted just to post pics for him. I'm weird like that. LOL. Thought I'd share them...

The Krylon camo paints are great. I figure guys are either Krylon guys or they aren't. I am because I treat my guns well and take care of them but they are tools. I can easily touch up the Krylon or hit with another color if I am going somewhere the foliage will be different.

You really need to degrease the host weapon! I simply spray with brake cleaner...

Then wipe down with a clean cloth...

I wanted a lighter coat with darker highlights. So, I applied the dark base layer first.

While that base is drying grab some foliage.

And trim to lay flat on the host.

Then place it on the host and start your spraying. You want to keep 8"-10" away from the surface you are painting and keep your hand moving.

After the first tan dusting...

Larger leaves left a few small places for some darker brown highlights.

You can always hit the paint with clear coat to make a little more permanent. You can get the paint off either way with lacquer thinner and some scrubbing.

Start on some ammo cans. You won't cry if you mess those up. LOL. Best of luck and post pictures!!
