In the market for a 9mm suppressor and it seems like all the ones in my budget are out of stock or back order. They are also $150-$200 dollars cheaper than anywhere else.

Does anyone else have experience with other sites or have an idea on how regularly they get cans in stock?

I’ve bought a can using their kiosk and it was painless.

I could be wrong, but I’m worried about using anyone else because of the ATF process.

I have 3 locals that will help get everything done. Paperwork, digital prints, etc. worked perfectly for me not having to do anything by myself. About 1/2 hour start to finish and 2 week approval turn around.

Capitol did my transfer cheaper than the local yocal........ Best experience ever on their delivered to your door scheme. All my previous were paper so it's a new day with this Efile deal.

Just don't buy from the douches at Silencer Central, and you should be ok. LOL

My local dealer has a kiosk, and will generally beat the website prices on their stock. The biggest benefit is they have access to all of silencer shop to start the paperwork on anything in stock online.

I buy as an individual; no need for a trust. Local shop was 2-day turnaround from purchase to possession each time. I had a bad experience with Capital (and that’s all I’ll say about it.) I have not found a price difference between online vs local.

I’ve purchased cans from Capital and SilencerShop…and several others.

Hard to go wrong with either of those two, but the kiosk setup that Silencer Shop has sure makes it easy for buying with a trust where trustees live in different cities, or for multiple purchases since all the data is already filled in.

"2-day turnaround"? Was it a 2 liter pepsi bottle?

Hansohn Brothers is in Virginia and has been very good in all of my dealings with them. The easy button for me now is Capital Armory. They always have the lowest price every time I compare, after your first can with them you are on file so it is only a few minutes on line to buy a can, and after approval they literally ship your new can to your door. It doesn’t get any easier. There is a reason they are as big as they are.

If you have a local SOT that is competent with eForms and won't rape you with a $100 transfer fee, go with them.

I vote for Capital Armory though. You're not forced to use a Kiosk, you can send physical prints OR use any digital ATF-compliant prints to upload. They handle all of the auto-fill information, including your CLEO info, and their portal is super simple to use.

Never had an issue with them at all, I've done 12 cans through them. Usually I can certify the same day I can buy, they'll actually chase your CLEO if they don't sign the NOTC 4473, and they ship pretty quickly as well though in total with CLEO and shipping it's anywhere from 10-20 extra days versus a local guy.

My local SOT managed to completely jack my Form 4 up, the ATF examiner to their credit reached out to me to fix it while working on a batch, so the time is worth it knowing that CA will NOT fuck it up. Plus they also send some goodies, I got suppressor mittens and beer coozies out the ass from CA lol.

What are some of the issues yall are having with Silencer Shop? Why all the hate? I’ve only dealt with them one time (recently) and I didn’t have any issues. There is a kiosk 30 minutes from my home so that made prints easy.

Yeah I am enjoying the ease and convenience along with competitive prices. I have 6 home or in process from SS.

It took months for them to stop changing my information as I had it entered. I’d enter the individuals information and the trust info exactly, when the signature part came they had gone in and changed who lived where on different accounts and/or the trust address. A nightmare.

I lost nearly a year on a can due to their mistake with filing my trust. When I would reach out to them with questions, they were rude, even arrogant. If they would have actually listened to my questions, they would have looked into the issue and fixed their mistake. Instead they would blow me off, even after I had purchased multiple cans through them. If the owner of SS ever reads this, he would do well to clean house.

I am big on good customer service. Companies like TBAC, Bighorn/Zermatt, and MDT set the standard in the gun industry. Silencer Shop is absolutely the worst customer service experience I have had. Even my local dealer has purchased his own digital fingerprinting setup so that he no longer has to deal with them. That should tell you something.

i had several similar interactions years ago when they were just a hole in the wall place in Austin. they messed up my form 4 and tried to blame me for it, their staff were always condescending on the occasions i was there.

on top of it people forget SS crashed the original eforms which killed online form 4s for 8 years.

i have little good to say about SS.

I'd buy local if the dealer has what you want. I have a local dealer that has a huge inventory of suppressors and they handle everything in-house. Bought a couple of suppressors from them and it went super smoothly with no hiccups.

Having said that, I bought a suppressor from Capitol Armory last year that no one else had in stock. I have no real complaints, but I probably would not order from them again unless they had a killer deal or were the only ones with stock. What I didn't like about the process were the multiple steps I had to complete, including paying extra to get them my fingerprints. Then after you receive ATF approval, you still have to wait 2-4 weeks before you get your suppressor (they have to mail out a form to your local LEO, then wait for a response before they can ship your suppressor). If you're impatient like me, I'd look at other options first.

Didn't know they had expanded to so many states as a dealer and could now ship to your door. That is great to know. Hadn't bought a new can in a couple of years. Time to give them a revisit.

I had a great experience using Hansohn Brothers. Highly recommend.

I’ve bought a bunch of cans form silencer shop with zero issue. Backordered a ocm5 came in like 2 weeks later

Use same dealer for cans from private parties and Tbac cert so use the silencerShop software / emails.
Easy
