There will be a Brock’s Gap Precision Rifle Match on Saturday, April 12th. Please be at the range no later than 8:30am. The match will start promptly at 9:00am.
A brief organizational update; Larry Levine has stepped down as match director due to time constraints and family considerations. Larry initiated this match over 5 years ago and put a great deal of time and effort into organizing and running it. We thank Larry for all his hard work and wish him well!
John Cuckler, Richard Crouse, Jim Saunders, myself and other members of BGTC will continue to run the match on an “as scheduled” basis. Our goal will be to do one about every other month, possibly more or less frequently. They will continue to be on the 2nd Saturday of the month and updates will be communicated on The Hide and via e-mail as to when they will be held.
There will be a few formatting changes and we’ll definitely listen for feedback from the shooters in order to make the match as safe and enjoyable as possible. Round count will be firmed up a week or so prior to each match but plan on about 100 rounds (rifle only, no pistol). Stages will generally involve a small amount of movement and include shots from a variety of positions. They will have varying degress of challenge but emphasis will always be on the FUN FACTOR! Target ranges will be from 50 to 725yds with most somewhere in between.
To start, the match will be limited to 20 pre-registered shooters. You can pre-register by sending me a PM or e-mail. I will respond with a confirmation. A reply on this thread of “I’ll be there” is not sufficient to pre-register. Please indicate your name, telephone number and e-mail address when you contact me.
A match fee of $35 can be paid on Saturday morning when you get to the range. Should we fill up with pre-registered shooters, I’ll start a waiting list and clear it when/if we have cancellations. No-show’s without a cancellation will preclude a shooter from participating in future matches. As we refine our new formatting structure, we hope to be able to open the match up to a larger number of participants.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you at Brock’s Gap Training Center soon! Any questions, ask ‘em here and we’ll do our best to answer them.
