We are putting on a 2 man team precision match on November 13th at MCSA, Lewistown, PA. Distances are from 25 to 1000 yards.

Both shooters will be on precision platforms. You must register as a two shooter team, so collect a teammate first.

Course of fire is not finalized but the round count should be 75 or so.

Stages will include command fire, communication skills drills, LOTS of UKD, reticle focused drills, Target ID/Shoot stages, and many other elements of tactical shooting that people on this site would appreciate.

Full information, local hotels, and registration (online) are here:

http://bhtcorps.com/TEAM111310MATCH.html

Once we receive your online registration we will forward instructions where to furnish payment.

There's even a mechanism to suggest a cool stage. If it works on that range, we just might include it. ;-)

Thanks,

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

Will there be stages that require more than 5 rounds in a sitting? IE movers for 10 rounds?

Trying to figure out which platform to run... and trying to coax my buddy in from Columbus that weekend.

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

No there are no movers or rapid bolt ten round stages. Just lots and lots of UKD, some with no laser permitted.

Most of it is longer distance, high value shots. I'm almost done with the CoF.

We're trying to exploit the features of the range as much as possible in the CoF.

e.g.

There is a stage where the team is separated, and communicate by radio so that one shooter directs the team mate onto a UKD target and vice versa.

And a gut-check team KYL stage where the team must select a single UKD target to engage, and each member MUST hit it within two rounds or it's a no-score. 10 points for every 100Y of distance the target lases out at after the shots are sent.

I've even got hawkins prone in there, but I'm not sure it will stay - damn if I still remember how to suture an eyebrow, and the paramedic hasn't registered yet. ;-)

For guys that came to the last one - The IED team along the roadway has grown in number, and the CBS (enhanced this time) are baaaaaaaack!

Most are 5 round stages. Those that are 10 are 10 because of high degree of difficulty. Definitely not ones you will want to be ka-chunking them off too fast. LOL

This will be a high-difficulty CoF but it can definitely be a learning experience for beginners too. If you are reading this and are a little green, please consider giving it a try. You will find a lot of helpful regulars there.

OK, that sold it. My buddy and I will be bringing the 6.5-06's instead of the 260's

I'll try to get registered up today.

Amen John, when I saw the date I asked Mini/Son of Sam if he wanted to shoot the match or rifle hunt the 1st day in VA and hunting won hands down.

Sounds like a great match Fred, hope we can convince you to run one in the spring of 2011.

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

Sure - if it's popular and we can fill it up, we would absolutely run it again. We have to work within the days that are available from the club.

I would LOVE to do a 2 day match there, but you cannot shoot on Sundays until 1pm because the club has an easement with a church.

There isn't an all precision long range team match out there on the east coast as far as I know, so it's kinda cool to plant that flag.

Once I post the CoF, I think you guys are going to be even more PO'ed. LOL

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

bohem is right. Thunder Valley Precision (TVP) in Ohio holds all long range, precision, team matches. If you have never been there, it is an awesome place. The long course at TVP is all steel between 250 yds and 1200 yds, the distances are known but the course is still incredibly hard to shoot well.

I can't wait to see the CoF for this match, but it looks like it is going to be a blast.

As bohem said, Team barrel Scorcher is good to go and looking forward to it.

I'm heading out west to BC, Canada, end of November to catch the Mule Deer rut. The deer season runs from beginning of September to the middle of December out there!

Final registration info email has been sent. Let me know if you registered and have not received any instructions.

You can bunk in the clubhouse too for a small donation.

There are a couple team spots left guys.

Thanks,

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

Match is Full, but I have room for one more team. PM if you want it.

Big thanks to NOMAD - We also have some Impact Databooks on the prize table now!

I will send an email out with this information as well, but we are insisting on the following stipulations. Be warned!:

1 - You are operating under the match rules for the entire time you are on the club property. This includes Friday.

2 - Those who want to check zero on Friday may do so after setup is complete. CHECKING ZERO MEANS CHECKING ZERO ONLY. You may shoot at the paper target of your choice at either 100, 200, or 300Y. No other target may be engaged. To do so would mean you shoot as a DQ on Saturday only for fun.

3 - You may not use a laser AT ANY TIME if you are zeroing Friday. If you use one, you will disqualify yourself for Saturday.

4 - No recon of the range property, drawing a range card, etc.

We want to give the people who have to arrive on Saturday as fair a shake as possible.

Re: BHTC/MCSA TEAM PRECISION MATCH 11/13 LEWISTOWN PA

Yeah - looking forward to it. We gotta catch up. Mike and I will have a couple interesting things going on in the winter probably. Toward the better weather I want to do a 2 day match. Precision on day 1, and a combo of precision, carbine and maybe even a pistol stage on day 2. My gun is all fixed up with a new barrel and I will be G2G for Reade in May. Definitely see ya there.
