I am planning on getting a biathlon sling for my TRG , it will be primarly used for carry but I will use it in supported positions as well. I like the Tab sling from the intel I have gathered but would like any opinions from people who have used it , or any other sugustions. I know it carries well but how does it do as a shooting sling? Also do you leave it attaches on the left side of the rifle like when carring it or do you attach it to the rail?

I have the TAB Biathalon sling on my TRG and I love it. Yes you can shoot slung with it. You have to do a little maneuvering but what you'll find is the padding on the sling will actually provide you with a better support than a straight nylon sling. It even has a loop where you can tighten it on your arm as well.

If you do a search here, I believe that Tony has a video of the TAB Biathalon sling being used as a "sling".

BTW, it's a great sling for carrying. I hauled mine all around RO at the Bash and it was extremely comfortable.

just tagging this for a follow up.

I built my father a .22 for Christmas and stuck a TAB biathlon sling on it. I haven't gotten around to using the sling yet as I just proofed the .22, but when I do I'll follow up here with my thoughts on the sling. He wants to set up a XC ski and shoot course (biathlon), so I figured I'd help him get the rifle/sling part under control.

The biathlon is good. It is very nice when packing a heavy tactical rig around and it works perfectly when using it in supported positions. Get one you won't be disappointed.

TAB biathlon sling does the job for me and the TRG with HK style hooks mounted on the left side of the rifle. I haven't used it as a shooting sling yet, as most of my shooting is F T/R and other "varmint" matches where we move from 200-600yds in 100yd increments. It makes carrying easy. As you would expect with the TRG, the bipod rattles around when carrying with any sling. A friend modified his bipod to eliminate movement and I may have him mod mine in the future. I've worn mine for a few hours while other shooters we on the line and I was spotting. Love it.

    Re: biathlon sling opinions

My mountain climbing hunting trip would have been next to impossible without it. The b.sling was a god send and the best money ever spent on a sling.

I'm glad you guys are liking the sling. If it wouldn't be too much trouble I'd really like to start collecting pictures of our products in the field so we can make a photo album on the website of our gear in action around the world.

You don't have to post them here if you don't want to, you could send them to my email at [email protected]

    Thanks.
