Court ruled that the driver is immune from criminal charges and civil litigation because he's a federal agent doing his job. Homeowners security video shows the entire event and the judge said that he definitely did run the stop sign and run over the woman. The DEA agent said that he was trying to catch up to his team that was doing surveillance and didn't believe that he had to obey traffic laws. Judge agreed using a scotus ruling from 125 years ago.

I'm not a lawyer and not an expert on the law. However, imo the judge is wrong , even if only morally in the eyes of the law. Dude is guilty of homicide at the very least. Does the vile DEA actually have written policies they can produce saying their agents can run stop signs in non-emergency situations?

I went to school @ 2 blocks away. Very busy 1 way arterials parallel immediately West of the subject intersection. There are overly congested and generally 'sluggish' to navigate. Nicer, older homes, short block neighborhoods with zero commercial activity on this street - known locally as park blocks. All w/in a couple blocks of the hospital / city offices / lots and lots of foot and bike traffic - who are avoiding the arterials for safety. Any reasonable person would understand the NEED to slow down.

I seem to recall in 1900 federal agents were allowed to ignore stop signs/red lights, but only if it were an urgent matter. e.g. Hot sign on at Krispy Kreme.

That judge is a puke. Part of EMS training of any sort, includes that even when running Code 3, you HAVE to stop at red lights, and be sure it is safe to proceed. “Busting” red lights or stop signs is a matter of organization policy, and State law.

What video evidence? The distortions and lies from the story are not evidence. They show a truck, slowing by not stopping for a random stop sign, no bicyclist in sight. They do not give the location or deny it was a four-way stop. They fail to explain why she refused to stop. Did she imagine she was the "car on the right" so she had the right of way. Nothing in the clip they showed was happening so fast it was unavoidable.

Yeah, the DEA guy is a douchebag. But, the prick on the bike was probably riding down the middle of both lanes of traffic and pretending she was a fucking garbage truck, like every other asshole on a bike.

I used to right 100-150 miles a week on a bike for both fitness and commuting. About 20% of drivers are fucking assholes and a mower handle went over or past my head at least twice a week because some cocksucker had it sideways in his truck trying to kill people. The infamous "right-hook" nearly got me once in a while, where the car driving cocksucker drives past you, 10 inches away and then swerves a right turn with you going nearly as fast as the car and mows you down. I've had random assholes throw shit at me, while I was in the bike lane minding my own business. And at night drunks will stare at the flashing red taillight and drive right into a bicyclist, killing them and keep on fucking going.

I had a weird drunk lady, smile and motion be thru a 4-way stop, then floor it and try to run me over once. She chased me into a guy's front yard and rammed his truck as I peddled myself around it. Then she stood in his yard screaming at both of us that she as not afraid of men, until the cops got there. Afterwards, she went to jail. All the while screaming her hatred of men.

All that weird shit aside, a stunning number of bicyclists are always begging to get ran over. Not watching where the hell they are going, listening to bullshit on headphones or buds instead of looking around or peddling in the middle of the fucking road because they think they are cars. I stick to trails, parks or forest roads these days.

Generally speaking, all people appear to suck, especially when operating any type of vehicle.
