Once upon a time, in North America, Tories and "others" lived side by side. Then in a clash over the price of tea and some housing issues (and a bunch of other stuff), and ideas, something not yet called ethnic cleansing removed several of each. After, they generally lived side by side again. and things were pretty good. Armed society was polite society.
Once upon a time, 1860ish, northern North Americans and southern North Americans lived kinda side by side. Then in a clash over economics and some other ideas, several of each, got removed, and it was especially ugly in Kansas in an early version of ethnic cleansing.
After, with uncle Gov looking on, the southern North Americans were reconstructed, and the sides generally lived side by side again, but not as smilie happy as it could have been... armed society enforced separate versions of happiness.
Once upon a time, those same North Americans decided the better tanned North Americans needed thinning, and a version of ethnic cleansing called lynching removed several. I don't think they live happily side by side now, but your mmv..
Once upon a time in Serbia Christians and Moslems lived side by side. Then, in a clash of ideas, ethnic cleansing removed several of each. Now back to North America.
In a corollary,
Once upon a time in Virginia Republicans and Democrats lived side by side. Then in a clash of ideas (that could start at the redhen), ethnic cleansing removed several of each.
A reasonable historian could examine the previous histories and determine that the redhen variety of clashing ideas wasn't really just cause for ethnic cleansing, and a better solution "could" be found..... just sayin.
The North Americans generally lived reasonably happy side by side because "tolerance" of ideas allowed those people to practice the rights and life guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and COTUS.
It is a frightening thing to know ethnic cleansing is just around the corner in several places based on intolerance.
Maser correctly asserts COTUS guarantees redhen and its Virginia owner the right to act in the intolerant manner that led to this series of posts. A number of hide members fought in Gov service to "preserve" that right..... a number of hide members lost family members serving said gov to preserve that right 41-45.... and up until recently, those varied North Americans got along just fine....
And we all know what has led to this point of clashing ideas and ethnic cleansing around the corner.
I don't think a bunch of bikers annoying a biddy is going to make any difference, unless perhaps, it serves to remind those that need reminding, an armed society is a polite society, and perhaps helps restore tolerance to pre 1960 levels for the most part.
Maser speaks of taking the high road, and that IS the American way. A number of Americans have been denied the privileges enshrouded in COTUS, and to denigrate Masers right to speak of the high road path, is.....
History repeats itself, over and over....
