Hi everyone,
Got this Pentax binoculars that won’t bend. I’m thinking of putting some oil in between the hinges to loosen them or pry this circle cover perhaps there’s a bolt there I can loosen. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Finally getting some responses. Some responses a little more than I’m asking for! LOL! What a lively forum 😊
The binoculars are old. Probably why it’s stuck. I have some Break Free CLP. I’ll place a couple of drops and let it soak overnight. If nothing happens then a bigger hammer! LOL!

Yeah, I'm @redbullitt ...try the Breakfree but for pure penetrating oil, I would prefer Kroil. And it wouldn't hurt use a hair dryer to heat up the hinge after putting a bit of oil on it...seems to drive it in a bit, maybe?

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Got the hinges freed. The penetrating oil did it. Though I did take the advice about laying them on concrete… and placed my entire weight on it (180lbs). Good thing it freed the hinges! The sledge hammer was up next! 😄

Thanks guys! 👍

Break Free CLP. It does a great. I was told the US Military uses this. I once had a Star 9mm pistol that got rust all over for being left in a non-climate controlled storage for about 2 years. Nothing on it moved. Slide, magazine, hammer everything got rusted. I used this and let it penetrate overnight. Next day all moving part got loose. It’s good stuff 👍

Thanks!
