This has probably been covered many times and I missed it as I wasn't looking for it or interested in it.
Is there a good bipod mount for a AR-15 Mil Spec upper? Maybe fit on the bayonet lug?
What is good and what not so good?
My Son gave me an AR15 and I would like to have a bipod on it.
Regards, FM

I once kicked the idea around of mounting a bipod to an A2/M4 rifle when a KAC hanguard wasnt available and came across this to mount to the bayonet lug.

If it has holes it is probably mlok or keymod spec. I'd get one of the many sling studs that work with those interfaces and connect the bipod to that. Adding rails and adapters and whatever else ends up adding a lot of bulk and frankly, doesn't look very good.

I can't post any pictures, that is above my computer skill level.
The holes are about 7/16" dia. and there are little rails and ribs in the channel. I looked at my RRA upper and it is the same.
I will haul it out to my gunsmith and I feel certain he will tighten me up.

Thanks to all who have tried to help. I just haven't been interested in ARs much and don't shoot them that much but this gift will get me gong again.

You have to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, and know when to ask for help.

Thanks again, Foul Mike

I talked to my gunsmith, Bill, and he knew what I wanted and told me he would order it.
2 days later he called and told me he needed my rifle.
I took it over Saturday and he called me back that afternoon and told me it was ready.
I didn't want to fuck up anymore of his weekend as he had shit going on so I picked it up this AM at his workshop.

Really nice and just what I wanted, a Harris part so everything fit.
$15 out the door and I gave him a nice tip as he takes care of me good.

Really glad I have a good gunsmith. Regards, FM
