Black Hawk plate carrier.

I had a Black Hawk plate carrier sent to me to replace my Dragon Skinz vest. And I ordered the XL. I got this from cops plus. But the front plate pocket, was just about an 1/4" too narrow. I had to cut the inner pouch to get it to fit. It still holds it just fine. But the back was tight to be expected. I assumed that since I ordered an XL, the XL 7.62 plates would fit.
I was checking to see if anyone else had this issue at all. With my other brands of plate carrier rigs, ie, MOLLE, and Black Water, the XL's fit right in. Along with the Kevlar.

Are you using correctly sized military issue plates or commercial sizes?

They are the military issue, got them from supply in Kabul.

Are they the Green plates or the Black plates? The green ones are meant for AP and are standard issue but a 1/4inch or so thicker than the older non AP black plates. I know a lot of plate carriers where modeled after the non AP plates could be your problem.

They are the Black ones. I have a few sets of them, one vest set up for dismounts, and one for strictly driving.
And those vest took the same plates just fine. I have never owned a Black Hawk vest before. So maybe this was one of a batch that were sewn wrong.
But I got them in, but in the future I might be somewhat reluctant on another BH vest.
