Re: blackhawk dropleg holster
At first I thought this question was about the Blackhawk Omega dropleg, which I would vehemently NOT recommend. I had my M9 fly out of the holster while sprinting during a mortar attack. I subsequently got a lanyard.
I now use a Safariland 6004 and it's great. I cut the corners off the 'board', took out the top strap, and shortened the hanging strap. This brings the whole rig up much higher, more on the side of your hip than down on your thigh. Much more stable, doesn't swing back and forth as much when running, still clears outer body armor, and draw position is very similar to my standard duty belt.
