I got this holster for range use, with my Ed Brown Executive Carry. So basically a 1911, Commander length. I need some help using this holster. It is so difficult to get the pistol out of I actually need one hand on the holster, one hand on the pistol to get the damn thing out. Yes the tension adjustment screw is so loose any looser and it'll fall out. All previous kydex holsters have been easy to draw from. Yeah I know its a retention holster, but if I have the button depressed and can't draw the gun, it will do absolutely no good. Any suggestions?

Re: Blackhawk Sherpa Holster Help

I have a couple of them for glocks. Never had that kind of tension. They slide in and out as you'd expect.
Make real sure that you've depressed the button BEFORE pulling up on the gun.. otherwise you put the mechanism in a bind.

i have 3 of them for different guns, the only thing i can think of is that the trigger guard on yours is longer or thicker than the holster was made for. if you could seewhere it is tight maybe dremel out clearence for your triggerguard

Just get the serpa made for the G17.

Re: Blackhawk Sherpa Holster Help

I am sure it will you have to look on the back of a serpa holster to find the right one. It is te one that fits the glock 17. Your 35 will protrude out the bottom just a little but no big deal.
