Hey guys,

I just received my bnz 43 Single Claw tribute back the other day and got a chance to shoot some quick pics. I had to use inside lighting since it's raining out.

I started off with an import marked bnz 43 barreled receiver that was in a known single claw letter block ("d"). It had actually had the front and rear sights removed, the original solder was still in place. I spent a couple years finding a correct WaA code Norwegian capture stock w/bands, correct WaA trigger guard/floor plate/capture screws, and correct WaA code front and rear sights. When it came to the bolt I ended up using an early WaA63 bolt just because I got such a good deal on it. The mounts/bases are Igor reproductions and the scope is an Iron Elite reproduction "bmj" scope.

Please message me if you happen to have a legit worn front sight hood and cleaning rod.

I'll be sure to post up range results once I get a chance to get out. Another one complete, low turret build is shipping off next.

Here is the K-98k sniper family so far.....

I ask since you have an obvious collection of scoped K98s, but have you found a specific mount style or optic combo that performs notably better than some of the others when it comes to these rifles?

I know there were numerous variants out there between optic and mounting style, more so whatever could be fashioned together by an armorer at the time.

If anyone has a 98a they wish to part with, been after one for a while now... missed my chance on a nice one a few months back...

Honestly I need more range time with all of them to really put them through the paces. The SSR initially had problems with the "lock up" and would work itself loose under fire (Accumounts set up). This issue has been addressed and it is now one of my favorites. The LSR is a solid shooter (Iron Elite set up), the Single Claw has yet to be fired (Igor mounts and Iron Elite scope), the PEM is pretty nice as it allows for windage adjustments in the scope (and mount) instead of just the mount like the German variants (Igor PEM mount and 1939 Soviet PEM scope). The High Turret has an iconic profile to me so it is my favorite looking rifle at the moment (Robert Spielauer mounts and Ajack 4x90 scope). The zf-41 is only 1.5x and a chore to zero so I haven't spent much time with it (Numrich mount/scope). So after all of my rambling what all of these rifles lack is a nice cheek weld. Just like the Soviet snipers of the period the K-98k snipers require the use of a chin weld so most of these aren't the most comfortable to shoot. I would recommend looking into the Long Side Rail as it seems solid, and is comfortable to use. I will likely know more in the future as the Low Turret is being built right now and I have a couple more ready to go after that.
