Body Armour Question!

Re: Body Armour Question!

Most manufacturers warranty a vest for 5 years from the date of issue/sale. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the actual effective lifespan of a vest may be considerably longer than that, but for insurance/liability/safety reasons agencies typically replace body armor every 5 years.

Unless that vest has been seriously abused in the past three years, it's probably okay. On the other hand, the only way to tell for sure is to shoot it...and then you're definitely going to need to replace it.

Re: Body Armour Question!

We have shot several vests that are 1994 vintage and they all stopped the rounds that they were rated for.

Its interesting to see what a vest will stop.
