Has anyone switched out the clamp an added a ball head an arca type clamp on a bog? The clamp works well to hunt with but that's about it. and was thinking about trying to modify one since I have 2 of them

It’s just one for a camera

When you say *it takes a little crafting*, what do you mean?
I took all the internals out. Found a washer that was the OD of the bearings in the top and bottom, found a bushings/spacer that had an OD that was the ID of the part that the legs attach to,that it all slides in. so I could tighten the bolt up and not smash the washers. The bolt is the size and thread pitch of the threads on the ball head. It all came from my local hard ware store. It just took some time to measure ones and cut twice if you know what I mean. If I can I will take it apart this evening and put some more pics up.

Got mine all fixed up tonight. I was excited to find the carbon fiber tripod is only 4#-12oz when the 2lb head comes off. Thats much closer to the 3.5lb rrs tripods.
I decided to go right to the arca clamp so I can take the ball head off when I want.
I also added a hook to the bottom. Just need a coat of paint or rubber handle dip and it'll be all good.
