Glad to see Borden getting into the PRS market. They make the nicest actions I've ever tried

It’s a good concept and will be interesting to see execution. Borden makes good actions so it’s good to see another strong competitor coming to market.

My only question is which current custom actions do not reliably feed BR, Dasher, BRA, etc. if using the correct mags at this point?

Most actions will feed the short 6BR cases with the proper mags and mag kits if setup correctly. This action will provide more than just proper feeding - it will most certainly be one of the best feeling PRS actions if produced to the same quality as their other actions.

Borden is known for producing actions with amazing timing (amongst other things). Part of the reason why people are such a big fan of Impacts - they happen to have decent timing. The Borden will take it to another level though - proper timing is a function that has been highly valued to the benchrest community for a long time now. Perhaps the PRS community is starting to wake up to this.

Regarding mags, do we know if these will be AICS compatible or will they be propietary footprint? I understand they are 700 action inlets so I would assume the mags to work with AICS SA magwells, but that would be a bummer if not.

Agreed. I am just thinking that there could be a pretty small market for this action as it’s limited in the cartridges it’s able to shoot. If it doesn’t do anything SIGNIFICANTLY better than current offerings (Impact mainly), I would suspect it will have a hard time getting much traction.

Regardless, it has my attention at this point. Hopefully more info comes available over the next couple of weeks.

It's not going to get much traction because Borden isn't going to heavily market it or sponsor PRS shooters. They sell every action they produce.

People are heavily influenced by what the "pro's" use and what their gunsmiths push/are familiar with.

Unless some of the "pro's" decide to pick it up without a sponsorship deal, and/or some of the top PRS gunsmiths push it, I don't think you will see much of them. That doesn't mean it isn't a badass action though.

Well that’s true, and you may well be right that they (Borden) is not really interested in high same volumes. After all they are selling MFG to consumer direct and should be cognizant of production constraints. Nothing wrong with that either. Would seem they have plenty of demand to keep them busy with current lead times and I’m sure this action will do nothing but increase those.

That said, I am going to go ahead and order one. If nothing else I’ll sit it next to my Impact and compare the two side by side.

Also, answered my own question, per Borden: “special mag well for 6 BR uses special AICS detachable Mags”

I'm excited to hear what you think of it. Based off of Borden's reputation, it should be a pretty badass action.

I'm actually a bit amazed that there's not much talk or excitement about this action on this board.

Anyone have an update on this action? As in when it will be released? What’s the current backlog? Don’t know why this forum leans toward the impacts/vectors/tl3. I think this Borden action will be amazing
