Does anyone use the boretech action cleaning tool kit who has a zermatt arms origin action? I'm wondering if the molded rubber wiper would break or damage the control feed extractor, especially when pulling it back out since the extractor will catch? Also what size brush do you use to clean your 6.5cm chamber? I really like the boretech idea of cleaning the raceway as well as the recessed lug area with the molded rubber wiper but don't want to spend 75 bucks when it won't work with the controlled feed extractor. Any chamber and lug area cleaning tips would be greatly appreciated. Hope you all had a good Christmas amd new years and got in some shooting.

I haven’t used it but imagine it could if you’re not careful. I normally just pull the barrel off to clean the action. Quick process with a vice and wrench.

How often do you clean? I feel like that would be such a pain to tare it all down just to clean the action? I'm just a tad....super ocd so if I shoot 40 rds I'll clean. If I shoot 20 I might not clean but I realllllly want to lol. Shoot. I'll for sure clean 😆

Not often at all. After a dusty or rainy match and sometime when swapping barrels. It’s a closed chamber so you’re not getting carbon in the action unless something is wrong.

I use it on several TL3 actions. It goes in fine but will catch on the way out. I pinch it in the ejection port and unscrew the rod. I drop the rubber wiper down the mag well. It works great. Unscrewing it is faster than me typing this.

Same here. I started using this tool years ago on my FTR guns (Savage, at the time). Worked a treat for getting in and cleaning out the lug recess area, a spot that I never felt got adequate attention during routine cleaning, and pulling the barrel to do it just seemed silly.

Later, when I got my Origin, it still worked - sorta. It went in, but coming back out the mechanical ejector tears the shit out of the rubber wiper. More recently, I finally said 'screw this', and did pretty much the same thing as @MBanning - when I was done cleaning, I pulled it back to the ejection port, unscrewed the rod and let the head drop through the mag well.

It's not nearly as handy as with a regular plunger ejector in the bolt, but it seems to be the price ya have to pay in this particular situation.

Good to know

What does size brush doing everyone use for their chamber area for 6.5cm? A 30 cal? Or something small like a 7 mil? To get rid of carbon rings and clean where your bore guide prevents you from cleaning?
