Anybody use this stuff? It says that it gently polishes and is safe for all barrels. I don't want to lap my custom barrels with a product like lasso or JB polish. I'm not knocking anyone who does that but I know enough to know that I better not do that. I still have lots to learn. So what says the hide?

I've not used it.
The product page says "silica based" which would usually be diatomaceous earth. The MSDS says Calcite:

In general abrasives are for when a barrel just won't come clean with any solvent. Their claim to be different is it won't turn black unless there is fouling. Given even cloth alone can do that color me skeptical on that claim.

Im gonna just go ahead an say it.. Polishing is removing of material. Why would you want to do that unless you are having specific issues? If the barrel shoots, just clean it with hoppes or similar and carry on. I would only consider abrasives if you are having serious fouling issues.

Your barrel though.. Its only a few hundred dollars to replace it if it goes south.
