Ok so I have a problem I’ve never encountered before. It’s probably from inexperience but hoping someone here has some insight.
I recently traded for a 300 Norma improved. Badger m2013 action, manners stock, trigger tech diamond, proof 28 inch pipe, and a seekins bottom metal. The magazine that it came with has been chopped because it was a light weight hunting setup. So today I ventured to Mile High to get magazines for it as I planned to use this for ELR.
Here’s where the problems started. The AI cip length magazines fit in the bottom metal but wouldn’t click in. After further investigation the feed ramps overhang to front of the magazine by enough that it’s going to cause feeding issues and the mags were hitting on the back of the action causing them to not go up high enough to lock in. We tried a slightly shorter mag and it seemed to fit better but obviously wouldn’t lock in because they were too short. Does anyone have any recommendations for a fix? Can I go to a slightly shorter bottom metal from Hawkins? Or am I just stuck with this and have to do a new stock? Thanks for any help.
