Night Vision Bought a Pulsar Thermion XP38 Turns Itself ON ??

I bought a Pulsar Thermion XP38

Been using it for about 5 days just playing around, not even mounted yet.

Has anyone had any problems with the unit turning itself back on after turning it off? I push the power button and hold until the 3 second countdown ends and the screen goes blank... come back a few hours later and the screen is on and the battery is almost dead.

First time it happened I thought I had made a mistake.. now it has happened three times.

What software version do you have in it ?
Mine came with the old version and I upgraded it to the 4.0 version soon after getting it.

I got mine in February and haven't had this problem. I wonder if you're holding the button too long? (just a WAG) I typically release as soon as it hits zero.

How do I tell what software version I have? I went to the "I" in the menu for the information and there's about 10 lines of info.. none say software or version.

I think my unit is draining the batteries when it is turned off.

The last time I shut it down, I was very worried about it so I set it on the shelf in a position where I would only have to bend down to look into the eye cup.. the screen was totally dark and off... hour later, same thing.. three hours later, same thing. Even picked it up carefully and held it to my eye for a few seconds.. screen is dark..

Let it sit overnight, came back 24 hours later, both batteries are totally drained.. They were completely full when I put it on the shelf.

My scope has been sitting since monday and it still has full batteries.
I don't have wifi, or any of the other features turned on.
The firmware version is in the device info (i) icon in the menu.
The firmware is listed below the serial number of the scope.
If it starts with a 2.0, you have the old firmware.
You would also see a sound + image boost icon in the menu with the 4.0 version.
If your still having issues, a call to pulsar tech dept might be in order.

Any news on your scope issue ?
Just checked my scope and still full batteries.
Since the predator season has ended in NY, I removed the #2 battery.
I need to read up on maintaining the batteries during the off season.
