I'm shooting in a match this coming weekend and been told that this will be for the most part a "lost brass" match. There will be no time at all given to recover brass. I'm using Lapua brass in most of my rifles and this is a 150+ round match and I don't feel like just giving away $150 worth of my new brass.
I've been trying to come up with some ideas for a light weight inexpensive "DIY" brass catcher to attatch to my rifle. So far I'm thinking about some kind of plastic or cloth bag, a stainless steel wire frame made to hold it open, and possible Velcro or elastic to connect the wife frame to the rifle. It only need to hold about 10 pieces of brass at the most as I can empty it between stages.
I know some of you guys just say "to hell with it" and leave the brass, but I'm just not ok with that. There has to be something we can rig up that won't be too bulky and be easily emptied. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
