Hey guys, not much to this one other than I needed a brass catcher so I didn't have to chase it down and I wanted it to be portable. Those little bags suck in my experience, so I made something else using chicken wire, PVC pipe, a Mic stand, velcro and plastic ties.
The pictures are pretty self explanatory, but show me your solutions as well. The prototype of this is done but I'm gonna make some revisions to make it fit in the soft case I had lying around. It's damn close to fitting now, and only weighs about four pounds. Also any feedback is helpful, but I'm pretty sure I know what I want to do with it.
Brass catcher assembled
Showing how well it worked, I fired around 300 rounds into it over two days with no problems or missing brass.
This is how you take it down, you take the velcro sides off and they fold under, then at the back of the catcher it disconnects and folds under as well.
All folded up and the stand retracted.
Put away for carry. The stand sticks out a little but I'll have it fixed soon enough to zip up all the way.
Anyways, this will fend off the brass vultures and people complaining about being hit in the face with brass, so I'm happy. Any other semi- owners have any interesting ways to combat this range problem?(other than not going to a range...)
