Rifle Scopes Browe BCO

Re: Browe BCO

I saw this past week at International SWAT Round-up...very nicely done. The auto feature worked well, but I really like the ability to manually adjust as needed. It really gives you the best of both worlds. I like having that level of control, makes it more versatile to me. Very rugged, compact, clear and solid. Very solid kit!

Re: Browe BCO

As a combat optic, how is this an improvement on the ACOG? It weighs more, is reliant on electronics, vibration sensor and batteries, has a larger footprint on top of the rifle, and finally it's unproven where the ACOG has an extensive combat record of reliability. I've never felt significantly disadvantaged with the outside illumination adjustment of the ACOG and BAC to the point where I didn't feel I could rapidly make an accurate shot. I've also never had a problem with the strength of the 7075-T6 forged aluminum body of an ACOG, so I'm not impressed with the titanium housing on this one.

It would take quite a bit for me to consider this optic over the ACOGs I've been using for the last thirteen years. Especially as they're both at the same price point.

Re: Browe BCO

From my perspective (not using it as a combat optic, just for hunting/shooting)

I find the fiber optic in my TA31 to get too bright in bright direct sunlight, it's probably going to be difficult for me to get my tritium replaced (foreigner, restricted, blah), I can't stick it in front of my PVS-14 (tritium burns into your tube). Better selection of reticles, possibly mounts lower than ACOG (so you might be able to stick it on something that isn't an AR and not have a neckweld).

Agree that titanium isn't worth the effort and the weight is a problem.
