Got in on the Surgeon RSR buy and got the barreled action back last week. I think my build is a pretty good example of what you can accomplish on a limited budget, not everything has to be mil-spec bullet proof to get a solid system for tactical matches, hunting and general banging around.

Surgeon RSR stainless, .243 with a Brux heavy palma contour finished at 26" and throated for magazine length Dtacs, B&C light tactical off the classifieds, CDI precision ACIS bottom metal, Surgeon base, TPS low rings, Falcon 4x14 emd reticle. The barreling and compensator were done by Nate at Straight Shot Gunsmithing (308Nate).

I have not weighed it but it is about 12-13 pounds ready to roll and the balance is perfect for me. I only have 8 rounds thorugh it, enough for a rough zero and a quick ladder just looking for pressure/velocity. The last 4 rounds of H4350 went into a little over 1/2" at 100, not bad considering they went from 41.7 to 42.6gr. It looks like load work up will be pretty easy and it has already met every goal I had in mind. Total cost to get it in my hands is about $2200. Would have been really easy to make it $3000 but I would rather spend money on ammo. Finish is Coyote Tan Cerakote on all metal and a base coat of coyote tan air cure on the stock with duracoat accents.

I like Nate!

Your gun looks great and that's a good example of how to have a rifle built.

IMO,Anything that could of been done beyond what was done here is only bells and whistles. Not too heavy either.

Well done!

Nothing goes to fast building a rifle. I had to do lots of trading and shopping classifieds to do it. I did not spend any additional out of pocket money, just moved stuff I was not using and made some custom hunting knives to cover any needed cash payouts.
