Anyone have experience with these?
Looking to put together a 10/22 and I would like to avoid some of the QC issues the Rugers have.
Not looking to dump $2K into a rimfire, just want a reliable, accurate suppressor host.

I put together an "inexpensive" 10/22 using one of the BRN receivers (bought on sale) and a Ruger receiver parts kit (no trigger) also bought from Brownells:

The only thing I replaced in the parts kit was 2 upgraded pins from TandemKross that I already had in-hand that have a spring-loaded ball detent:

I've not had any problem with that receiver other than the cheap, crappy picatinny Monstrum rail I put on it that the screws stripped when putting them in with a torque wrench. I ordered an EGW rail for it today. So far it's been working very well with only about 200 rounds of CCI and Aguila SV through it. Not a single problem feeding, firing, extracting, or ejecting. The only issue I've had is with the damned Ruger trigger I pulled out of another rifle to put in it. The safety has turned around twice between shooting sessions and locks up the trigger. It's an easy fix, but annoying. Once I get the rail installed and the rifled sighted in, I plan on really putting this receiver through an extreme test. More on that later...

Something else that I just remembered about the BRN recievers...

With some aftermarket bolts you will have to file on the receiver to get it to work. They are built to work with the Ruger bolts.

I built my clone with the standard BRN-22 receiver. Still had to file the rail down even with a factory Ruger bolt.

My build is BRN-22 receiver, Ruger bolt and charging handle, BX trigger, Kidd 18" SS HB and Mag Pul X-22 stock. Used the std receiver so I could use any scope mount/rail I might like to in the future, ie 30 MOA.

Groups very well at 50 yds with SK Pistol match. Has produced groups of .202 to .211" for 5 shots. Have only shot the SK Pistol Match, CCI SV and some HV rounds of differing brands so far. When time permits and conditions allow, I'll try some other ammo. CCI SV consistently produces groups of under .250" at 50 yds. Have about 1,000 rounds through it now since built 6 weeks ago. Flawless with HV ammo, took about 400 rounds break in before SV was fully functional.

Thanks for the input, gentlemen.
My main concern was that it is dimensionally correct and all of the holes are drilled properly.
Sounds like that is the case.
I will pick one up.
