Browning A-Bolt Eclipse? How good is it?

Re: Browning A-Bolt Eclipse? How good is it?

My buddy has one with the BOSS system. Once he got the BOSS dialed in it is definitely a sub-moa rifle, probably half if I had to guess. That being said before he got the BOSS dailed correctly it was just like any other hunting rifle out there....

Keep in mind that there is almost no aftermarket for this rifle so you are pretty much stuck with the factory offering.

Stay safe. Your service is appreciated.

If you like 12-14" or worse groups at 800 to 1k, it's fine. Depends on what you want

Hi after just striping a Titanium A Bolt and painting it i would not buy an A Bolt. the bolts are held together by 2 little pins holding the bolt handle to a tube then a cross pin on the front to hold the bolthead on.

then they are a pain int he ass to bed because of the way they are attached and the trigger bolt is used to hold the trigger on then is sandwiched to the stock. then on top of that the rear of the tang is part of the trigger unit not a full tang with a trigger attached underneath.
If you want to use one as a factory hunting rifle they are good but if you think it is as strong as a rem or win you will bemistaken.

I realy do like the mag systems though as you can swap an internal mag quickly and they are well protected.

The factory barrels are good but dont think they are anything in the order of a tacticle rifle.

I have a thumbhole heavy barreled .223 w Boss and it is my main prarie dog rifle. Love the smooth 60 deg. bolt and the mag setup. Trigger needed work, but slicked up well.

Will shoot in the .2 and .3's and has over 3K rounds down the tube.

My buddy has the same and his shoots as well.

Had a 300 mag (same gun) and it was a 3/4 MOA gun with good handloads.

Aftermarket is slim, though. I think triggers and stocks are about it.
