I’m looking for a solution to mounting my scopes with BOBRO QD mounts on them to my Browning BAR MK3 DBM’s.
Without realizing there’d be a problem beforehand, I purchased two of these guns for deer hunting during the day and predator hunting at night. Now I have two of the new DBM’s, but the 2 piece Picatinny rails are permanently machined into the receiver, and I have no available mounting options for my optics. Do you guys know of a solution for the BAR DBM’s specifically or someone that can make me one? I’m not sure why Browning decided to machine them into the receiver, but it’s a kind of a pain in the ass not being able to simply swap them out with a one piece rail like the traditional Browning BAR MK2 and MK3
My goal is to be able to swap between my predator hunting scope, a Pulsar Trail 2 thermal with a BOBRO Pulsar mount, and my normal day scope, a Swarovski Z8i 1-8 with a BOBRO dual lever mount, without having to rezero the scopes every time, but I need a solid rail on each gun in order to achieve this.
Another issue with finding a solid rail that works, is that the inside spaces on the rail are wider than a standard Picatinny rail space, so a custom bridge of sorts (to bridge the gap) would be the only solution other than tapping screws or welding a new rail section there.
To note, my primary gun is a SCAR 17 7.62x51/.308 and my secondary guns are my BAR DBM’s .308. I’ve also spoken to Browning, Talley MFG, and BOBRO, all with no answers or solutions for me.
I’ll post a pic of my rifles, but the BOBRO mounts aren’t pictured on the rifles as it was taken at an earlier date. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
