Browning X bolt Max Long Range

I'm reaching out to anyone who has purchased and loaded for the 300 RUM in the Max LR X bolt. It's twisted at 8, so I could shoot 230s out of it, but what I can't get out of the Browning folks is "what magazine does this caliber use" Trying to determine what COAL would fit inside the mag to see if I can run 230 Bergers out to the lands and still mag feed it.

Any users out there?

This thing? hasn't been released yet.... That being said mag is proprietary to browning and that new stock they are making.

Um....well my local store has had the 6.5 version sitting on the shelf for two weeks & they said the other calibers were available.

300 RUM not out yet?

And I know the x bolt mag is unique, but there is 5 different styles, and the long action magnum and 375 specific mags won't come close to the 4.0 inches that will be required for those long ass 230s.

Are they making something proprietary for this gun?

Really doubt you are going to be able to mag load the 230’s. Cannot say for sure that they use the same mag ( I bet they do ), but the 300 win mag only has ~ 3.5” oal of usable space in the regular x-bolt lr.

Would the 28 nosler mag be longer?

The 28 Nosler is much shorter than the 300 ultra mag. Given the same mag size it would fit.

Looks like a great rifle. Just hope Browning was smart enough to have an extended mag available.

These are available but hard to find. I didn't have any luck at Browning either. I did find a pile of them yesterday though and I have a .300WM on the way. Looking forward to setting it up next week.

X bolt mags in general you can stretch to 3.60
