Well I needed to do come cleaning, this keeps the bore 'funk' and solvent from spraying every were when brush exits the muzzle. This bottle is also the quick detach version for removing the brush to start back at the chamber for the next pass. This is a LTR specific bottle lots of test fitting and research was performed to find this custom fit bottle

Looks like a good way to clean on the kitchen table without hearing the lady of the house complain.

I myself have been banished to the garage for that. Dang is it cold out there in the winter....

Bore Tech makes an adapter called a patch hog that works great.

That is a good idea, wish I would have thought of it be for my wife banished me to the shop. Would you believe she can't stand the smell of hoppers #9. I wounder is that's gounds for divorce?

Yes it does have a two fold purpose keeps the wifey happy and the table clean and me from being banished lol. Oops that is three.

I always used Hoppe's #9 as a afrodisiac ... still cant figure out why I am deviorced.

Most water bottles will fit up to Remington varmint contour barrels. If you have a larger barrel, Evian water bottles have a bigger diameter mouth.

I have a 20oz diet coke bottle that has been in my cleaning cabinet for years.

Unfortunately it doesn't fit too well over the AI's brake. Guess it's a good thing I don't clean too often.

Being a cheap b@st@rd when it comes to spending money on things I think I can make myself, I built my own similar to what LW and others have done with your basic plastic soda/water bottle, except I took it a little further.

I have an older, "Big Mouth" type soda bottle with multiple lids I have collected. What I did was take the extra lids and make "adapters" with them by cutting the tops of the lids out to accommodate different diameter barrels (from small, pencil barrels to barrels with front sight bands to large diameter barrels with brakes). I ran a bead of silicone rubber sealant around the outside edge of the holes I cut in the lids which gives a nice seal around the barrel when you slip the bottle onto the barrel. If you discount the soda I drank from the bottle when I bought it which was around $0.99, add up the cost of picking up spare lids from folks around the office/job sites, and $0.17 of silicone...I figure I have about $0.40 in materials and a hour worth of time (as opposed to the $25 patch hog).

I definitely can't justify $25 for one of those.

My cleaning method really wouldn't make it worthwhile.

HOWEVER I may make a suggestion the next time to the tool at the range that lets his patches blow all over the firing line, then "forgets" to pick them up.
