Budget 22 opinions

What is a solid and accurate budget 22 rifle for say under $250 or so? Savage? Marlin? I considered a 10/22 but prefer a bolt action.

If you're really super budget oriented, then I'd at least go up to $325 for the CZ 457 Scout. Allows you one day to invest more in it instead of scrapping the entire platform.

You might take a look at the Norinco JW-15. It's a BRNO knockoff. I had one for awhile but sold it. Paid $167 shipped and sold it for $150 to a pawn shop. More or less I rented it for a year for $17. The JW-15 was a little rough looking but sold as a rock and function was 100%. It will take the CZ mags and has the 11mm dovetail for scope mounting. It was every bit as accurate as my Savage MK II and my Ruger PR, which is around a nickel at 55 yards. One of the reasons I sold it was the barrel wasn't threaded for my suppressors.
