Buffer Technologies Hydraulic Recoil Buffe

Has anybody used a Buffer Technologies Enidine Hydraulic Recoil Buffer? I zeroed my AR10 today and it almost kicked my ass, arm is sore, plus I decided on a Magpul PRS Stock, the plain A2 stock just don't fit right. Maybe the PRS stock itself would fix the Gun Hickeys and sore shoulder but let me know what you think.

Stay away from it. There has been many threads about buffers and they all say the same, stick with a regular buffer. The Enidine are known to leak over a period of time and create quite a mess.

I fixed that problem on my Ar's this way.

Stopped by my friendly shoe repair shop and bought a piece of heel material. Might as well get his glue while there since it works on that material.
Remove the knarly, biting new butt plate from the AR butt;
trace it on the heel material;
saw it, cut it, roughfly to fit;
glue the cut part to the butt plate;
clamp it in a vise or c-clamp or tape it with Duct tape;
with a belt sander or a block with 50grit wrapped around it, rub off the edges of the heel material;
Finish with finer sand paper.
Rough-up of the butt surface that contacts the shoulder as you wish:
curve it, camber it, convex it, dish it, etc......
From the inside out, drill the holes back through. They're about 1/2" I think.

The heel material is even made is colors like black, tan....

I have quite a few rounds on my endine in my 223 and 5.6 uppers, and it's still going strong. I don't think it reduces recoil so much, but it does reduce muzzle jump...

That A2 but plate sucks ass on a 308. After a week of shooting I have pretty bad road rash around my collar bone. Unfortunately, the only thing I'm allowed to do to my issued gun is suck it up. My AR 10 with a SOPMOD carbine stock is a pleasure to shoot. I would think the PRS would make a pretty big difference.

If you can't fork out the cash now, you could try one of those comfort pads, and also try adding a weight to to the inside of your A2 stock.

I have the cash for the new stock, wanted to try it with the A2 stock before I made the decision to replace it for sure. I got to thinking about a muzzle brake too last night, i'll have to look into that. The rifle was fine for the first 75 rounds shot at the range other that the pull of the stock, but after that and another hour shooting 25 more rounds it got a little uncomfortable. thinking about the Badger FTE, its got the Cool Factor plus good reviews, unless you guys think there is a better unit out there?

Best muzzle break in the world is a sound suppressor if you want to go the NFA route. It is silly how much felt recoil is reduced, it really makes my .308 fell like a .223. Plus, the guys shooting next to you aren't cussing you out for being the pussy with a muzzle break.

I have never used the Badger. I have used the Smith Enterprise muzzle break, and that worked well. The advantage to that one is that you can install it yourself, and switch it out with a flash suppressor fairly easy.

I can't have a sound suppressor in Michigan, because of the way the law is written, I talk to a guy about it yesterday but as I u nderstand they are working on changing it. Michigan is only one of sixteen states ( I think ) that don't allow them.
I'll have to look into the Smith Enterprise Brake you speak of.
