Bullet for .223 Ackley Improved?

I'm in the process of putting together a .223 AI "trainer" / "backup" gun for PRS - ARC CDG action, PVA 26" 1:7 barrel. What bullet should I be looking at? Ultimately, price matters as this gun is supposed to be a less expensive with longer barrel life vs. my 6GT competition gun. 77 gr SMK looks like a quality bullet at a good price pint. Any other thoughts?

I have done a few 223AI. It will shoot 50gr Blitzkings and 80gr Berger's great. I shot steel out to 1200yds this week. It worked well out to 1040yds , but went subsonic at 1200yds it is a super little round.
