I have a 6.5 SP-10 incoming and I plan on shooting factory match ammo. I have decided on a bullet yet. A couple questions for folks who have one: What are you shooting? What speeds are you seeing? Are you shooting 130gr or 140gr? For giggles, if you do reload, What speeds are you seeing pressure concerns? Thanks in advance.

I fed the Sp10 6.5 creed 130 Eld over h4350. Shot very well for a gas gun, getting in the low to mid 2800s based on what my shooter data was. Never took the time to chrono it. I liked the balance of the lighter bullets in the 6.5 calibers. Just personal preference...

I was finally able to get to the range. I ordered an American Defense scope mount, 20MOA, QD attachment. I put my Bushnell LRHSI in it. I did change the grip to an Ergo for the wider palm swell. I ride my thumb on the outside like my bolt gun.

I shot 100rds of 140 American Gunner to season the barrel, action, and most importantly, me.

Next I put 10rds of each of the following through it. 130gr Federal GM Berger’s, 130gr Norma Match, 140gr Hornady ELD, 147gr ELDs. I shot one 10rd string of each without breaking positing through the chronograph. I allowed the barrel to cool after each string. I can’t tell you the barrel temp but they were relatively tested at the same temp. The ammo was at the same temp too at about 59 deg F. Below are some of my stats.

FGMB
Avg=2,675fps
SD=18
*SD=10.81

Norma’s
Avg=2,726fps
SD=9
*SD=6.45

140 ELDs
Avg=2,589fps
SD=14
*SD=9.7

147 ELDs
Avg=2,602fps
SD=18
*SD=13

The *SD is where I kicked out the highest speed and the lowest speed just in case those were flukes.

I am going with the Norma’s. I like the speed and the SD. The speeds seem fairly high for an AR but there weren’t any primer issues that I could tell. The fired primers looked different from my bolt rifle but I think it has to do with a different firing pin. It’s also fortunate that my bolt rifle likes them too.

Please remember this is my rifle and your rifle may not do that. I hope this info is helpful.

I definitely happy with the rifle.

Those normas sure have good numbers!
