First off, my match-gun is currently wearing a Steiner T5Xi 5-25 , and I can’t really complain about it and I don’t feel like it’s holding me back during a match.. Recently bought a Vudoo ( setting it up just like my match-burner) and would like to put a scope on it fairly soon, but would like to be using the same reticle (SCR) during the practice sessions, and feel like for me, it’s important to always be staring at the same reticle.. Are the two scopes I mentioned on par with each other?? I realize Burris is a sister company or makes Steiner or vice versa.. I think used I could get the XTRll a bit cheaper, but I love the way the Steiner 3-15 looks.. Anybody out there have experience with both these scopes? I do realize there’s better options for a Vudoo optic, but for now I just wanna stick with the SCR.. Thanks

If you're using this for NRL22, parallax adjustment may stay you toward one over the other. My 5-25x Steiner only adjusts down to 50m. If the Burris will adjust lower, it may be the better option, even if the glass isn't as good.

The Burris has a minimum focus distance of 50 yards, too far for the .22 matches.
You'll need something that will focus down to 10-15 yards.
The 3-15 PST II will focus down to 20, which is much better.
I know they no longer get any love here, but the falcon M18+ will focus down to 10 yards and they have decent reticles.
Let's face it, we are talking .22 here, the recoil isn't going to break it.
Tracking is usually very good.

The Athlon Midas Tac 4-16 will also focus down to 10 yards. They are quite dandy scopes and offer much for the money.

If you are willing to pony up, the Sightron 4.5-24 will focus down to 13 yards.

I think staying with the same reticle is a very good idea.

I liked T5Xi 3-15x50 quite a bit, so it is a good option and you get very similar feel to the T5Xi you currently have in terms of turrets and the like.

If you only want the reticle commonality, then XTR II is, of course, a good option and you should add the P4Xi 4-16x56 to your list.

I am messing with the P4Xi now and I am very pleasantly surprised with how nice this scope is for the money.

T5Xi 3-15x50 is a little smaller though and focuses down to 25 yards if I remember correctly. It is probably a better choice for a rimfire gun.

Both P4Xi and XTR II focuse down to 50 yards, I think.

Enjoying the input guys, yeah I need to stay around $1,000 to keep everyone happy at my house.. I’m not to worried about parallax going down to 10 yds, for NRL22 matches, for some reason I can’t get stoked about them.. My Buddy and I have been using these out to 300yd on a rimfire range we put together, closest target is 50yds (that’s fun) If the 3-15 Steiner goes down to 25 yds as koshkin stated, then I’m thinking just roll with the Steiner, it’s a sweet little scope- yes I gotta practice with the same reticle, I need every advantage I can get

Camera Land NY (site sponsor) has the demo's T5xi 3-15 with full warranty and accessories at a good price. Still a little more $$$ than the Burris though. Have a 2-10x42 XTR2, the turrets are too stiff for my liking, but no other complaints.

Not anymore. Steiner dealers are under strict MAP restrictions as of Feb 1. Not to mention $1100 is way below current dealer pricing anyways. MAP on them is $1999.99.

Mike

Not saying new from a dealer for 1100 right now, but close. There are a few that have sold on here new in open box for 1050 to 1100 just recently. Quick google search and I can buy a new one right now for $1,195 from a dealer. Im not in the market, buy their out there, regardless if they're supposed to be on a restriction.

"Open Box" and "Demo Unit" sales are out there for sure. I'm doing that same google search and it's not pulling up any T5Xi 3-15 or 5-25 for less than MAP on the first 3 pages...? Got a link? I have a Steiner dealer price sheet fresh from SHOT here in front of me and dealer cost is no where near $1100 on new unopened units.

Dvor had one last week for less even. They even have the 5-25 T5Xi for $1,529 right now. Not the same scope in question but that's about 1100 off MAP. https://www.dvor.com/steiner-t5xi-5-25x56mm-scr-reticle-scope.html

Not arguing with you. Just there are still ones out these for great deals. Regardless if they are playing by the rules or not.

Edit.. dvor 3-15 T5Xi price went up to 1319 now. https://www.dvor.com/steiner-t5xi-3-15x50mm-scr-reticle-scope.html . $120 more then Botach.

Steiner-Scopes were $1,249 just until a few weeks ago.

Interesting stuff☝? I’ve seen these things go for pretty cheap in the PX - Hope I can still find a good deal on one in the very near future.. Resale value on the T5Xi hasn’t been that great, due to that tracking hiccup early on I’m guessing..(I would love to know exactly how many scopes didn’t track, as it seems stuff tends to get blown out of proportion ) I feel like for $1050ish (used) this scope is pretty decent value.. My 5-25 has tracked balls on...

I second Ilya's comments about the P4xi 4-16x with SCR, I've got one I purchased recently for less than $1,000 and it has performed very well so far for me; however, I think anything that only has parallax adjustments down to 50 yards is going to be a problem for a rimfire.

I have the same situation. I have the txi 5-25 on my prs rig. I got the 3-15 for my .22. With its ability to focus down to 10 yards, its the best 34mm scope for a .22 prs gun. The big tube gets you really far out there with out a canted rail.
