Burris XTR Pro 🇺🇸

Natchez has the refurbished and blemished XTR3's and Pro's pretty regularly, they even have some right now which is pretty odd for optics with supposedly such high build quality to be all over Natchez being blown as refurbs and blems cheap. They recently had some refurbished SCR2 pros for $850. I saw them when they were available and thought about buying one but ultimately didn't want an optic that had already been a piece of shit for someone else that was replaced and repaired.

Positive. I've only seen the refurbed pros up there once and it was after my buddy told me about them and I looked. It was only a year or so ago. They usually have some blems listed for a higher price. Their blem price is usually higher than what you can just buy new stuff from a dealer for though. Given what we have seen recently from debris inside the scopes to anodizing flaking off the inside I don't think I'd roll the dice for a blem either, especially at more than you can get new ones for. You can buy new pros for a little over $1400 right now so it's a no brainer.

crazy good deal... i've got a pro and xtr iii, both blems (xtr was sold as refurb but received blem), both looked brand new, so i got lucky i guess

Your math sucks. $1400-$1600 to $1800-2100 is not close to double.

Just an FYI man, you aren't getting a Razor HD Gen 3 off of anywhere that I've found for $1800 - 2100. I just checked EV, and his math (50%) is pretty damn spot on for there. EuroOptic with their discount is hundreds less than EV now, but still hundreds more than your quote...unless you're waiting for a once to twice per year sale.

Show me where I can buy a new Razor G3 for $1,800 and I'll make my order by the end of the day. That's not a call out. I genuinely like my G3. I'd buy another in a heartbeat at $1,800. At $2,400 I think that the G3 is still a great bargain.

The all black G3 is what finally sold me on getting the Razor. I hate the color Vortex uses on their Razor line.

Is Battlehawk Armory reputable place to buy from? They seem to have mixed reviews.
they're banned on reddit and i see a lot of bad threads, but i've ordered from them a ton and never had any real issues... one time i had a huge order and they forgot to ship something small, i forgot about it but then realized and emailed them, they apologized and 2 day shipped it immediately

my Pro just shipped from them, 2 days after ordering

Pretty rich coming from the guy that just a couple days ago was claiming Mark 4's and Mark 5's cost twice as much as XTR3's in another thread when they're in the same fucking price range. You might want to check yourself on your math skills before calling someone out on theirs.

I said its a much better built optic, not soley that the turret blows it away.

Build quality, Feel, rotating the turrets and magnification ring, glass quality, FOV.

Its also half the price of a MK5 / MK4HD so the value argument comes into play.

I'm sure they will sell a ton of these to people who don't know any better/ hardly shoot / spin turrets. Just pointing out my observation after handling it.

Show me where you can buy a G3 vortex for $1800-$2100 though. That's what Liberty was selling them for who was selling them under cost and ran away once he got enough peoples money. The absolute lowest you can get one for is with a 30% off cert from Euro Optic and you'll be into it over $2300 after tax, shipping, and the cost of a cert unless you spent thousands to go shoot a match and sucked so bad that it's all you got off the prize table. You'll still have a shit brown optic that's probably worse than the homoerotic red Burris, but that's easier to fix with some paint than a whole scope. To get a black G3 you're into it $2450 + tax and shipping. Anyone can go buy a XTR Pro right now for under $1450 delivered which isn't quite half the price but it's closer to half than the same. When the XTR3's come back in stock you will be able to get one of those and a pro for the same price as the lowest price on a G3. Perhaps scopeye can break it down to the cent for you and give you an exact percentage.

Yeah but now even that once a year sale which is mil/le only that was 50% off MSRP it still puts it at a higher price than getting a 30% off MAP cert and buying from Euro Optic which anyone can do. Or just spend $50 more than the once a year 50% off sale for mil/le only and buy the Euro Optic exclusive in black and not have shit brown.

I wish you could find the XTR Pro in store. I haven't seen one at the Colorado Springs Scheels or seen an XTR 3 in 2 years in a store. That being said I moved from the XTR 3 to a Kahles 525 DLR 2 years ago, but I was interested in the XTR Pro for my Fiancees Dasher.

Yeah, I think I'll have to refigure my math skillz now that 2024 pricing is out (even though "nothing changed"). I just noticed on EV as I was skimming through that the XTR Pro is $200 more than when I bought mine last summer (looks like the percentage changed). It makes the deal listed earlier even better.

Pro at $1,400 or Razor G3 at $1,800 (if that is available) is a buy that I'd make over and over again.

Now if I can get my hands on a Pro that doesn't remind me of Willem Dafoe wearing red lipstick in Boondock Saints every time I look at it...

I was really, really surprised by the "glass quality" on my Pro when I put it together with my buddy's S&B PMII and spent quite a bit of time behind under different conditions. It is not on the same level as the S&B or your Kahles...but it is close enough that I was identifying the same hair tufts on my cattle at 140 yards. Literally, nothing that the S&B picked up the Pro missed. Even in low light and through fog/mist that was the case. Close enough that I managed to convince myself that for my shooting needs I am not missing out on $3K+ alpha glass.

Full disclosure though - my Pro is back at the mothership getting warranty work done on it. However I know that everything manufactured can break, and my warranty experience with Burris has been pretty solid so far.

Someone said previously that the Burris discount on EV changed from 50% to 40% which is why the price is higher now. The pro is over $150 less from those dealers right now than EV and EV charges tax and some of those dealers don't so it really makes it about $300 less all said and done.

I've been considering trying a pro for that price but I don't think I will when I can get a MK5 for the same or a little more or a MK4 for a little less. I'll definitely be ordering another $800 XTR3 when they come back in stock though. I'm pretty sure the I bought is just going to live on the rifle I put it on for testing unless it gives me a good reason otherwise.

I’ve spent thousands there. They started charging sales tax at the end of last year. That sucks. You will have NO product support at all and there are no exchanges after the sell. This is how they keep prices low so understand that going in. You will deal with the product manufacturer if an issue arises.

I just bought from them last week and didn't pay sales tax.

under the turret is a brass triangle.

Factory setting stops the turret at 0
Flip it over gives a -0.4
take it out and it can go down till turret hits. All scopes will be different here. Will not effect function.

even switching barrels, which I do alot with all these divisions and weight classes popping up, having that .4 under has been plenty. if its more than .4, its super easy to loose quick detach turret and go up to 2 mils and tighten quickly without allens. I agree tho it sure is nice having the ability to dial below zero.

DT
Damn, I can't believe how long I just spent looking for this post. I remember reading it way back when...
I wonder why this isn't mentioned anywhere in the manual, or anyplace else on the internet for that matter.
I gotta remember this when my XTR Pro gets here, I want to be able to dial below zero, even if it's just .4 mils.
It should definitely be a page in the manual.

Got a new in sealed box xtr pro that appears to be a refurb or demo. Was the fit and finish of your scopes on par with what you would expect for the cost of this scope? Also, how stiff and gritty was your parallax. Mine feels like crap

Not sure about “gritty” but as far as stiffness, the parallax wheel from MKM makes it very smooth and easy to adjust.

Parallax on mine is not gritty at all. The finish and refurb/demo condition depends on what you paid for it. Mine exhibits none of what you photographed.

I think they are excellent for a $1,400 - 1,500 optic (new), which is what I paid. I'm seeing them advertised north of $2K now, and would certainly pass at that price.

The resolution of mine is very close to some scopes costing a lot more (again, I paid $1,4xx), but the contrast is a bit lacking.

It was advertised as new, and was in a sealed box which is why I was surprised by the condition. Regardless of the cosmetics the parallax is difficult enough to move that will be hard to stay on target

The finish issues would be something that I would take up with the seller, whether it be an individual or business.

The parallax is something that I would take up with Burris if you don't get the first part settled with the seller. I had to send my XTR Pro in myself, and the CS experience was pretty darn good.

Yeah I will contact Burris on the parallax. For the condition I am shocked Burris put this in a sealed box. If it was a refurb it should be clearly marked. The box and wrap were in flawless condition. So not exactly the sellers fault

Who was the vendor? I had that experience a couple months ago with Buds Guns, XTR Pro black version arrived in a shrink wrapped box, and it clearly had ring marks similar to yours and a dent in the housing where the erectors are. They replaced it without hassle for one that appeared unused. The new matte black coating Burris is using is horrible, it reminds me of a parkerized finish, IE any skin oils etc. leave marks on it and almost any abrasion turns the matte shiny. Definitely looks like someone was hard on the objective thread ring though.

Just playing devils advocate, but there's so many big shops and even small ones now that have shrink wrap machines that it's entirely possible it was re-wrapped. It's one reason I wish companies would put more tamper resistant seals on their packages so people knew they were not opened. Even just a good clear sticker that has to be cut to open and damages the box when it is removed is enough to work.

That said, we've seen a heap of disappointing stuff posted about Burris here the last couple years.

It was from an individual that got it from a warranty replacement and decided to sell it. He was told it was new and from what I can tell from the look of the box I received I 100% believe it was packaged and sealed from Burris. I am fine with the cosmetic stuff, but hopefully they can fix the parallax knob. Don’t think I will use it as is

I had some old Burris binos that I sent in for warranty. They sent me back an upgraded current model, but they were marked factory 2nds. May be the situation.
