Looking at this scope and a leupold MK4 with the M3 turrets, has anyone used the Burris and how well does it work. I am new here and tried the search but coul not come up with much. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. It will be going on a GA precision AR 10 that I just got in day before yesterday.

I think there are much better options in that price range. Not that the Burris is a bad scope but it just wouldn't be my pick for a scope in the 700 to 800 dollar range. I had one for a short time and when I tried to sell it, there didn't seem to be much interest in it. For one, it's freakin huge for a 3-12 scope, and for two, the entire eye piece rotates when you change the magnification which drives me insane! If you're set on the two scopes, I'd go with the Leupold. It's a proven optic that you won't have a problem selling it if you decide you want to. If you're not set on one of those two and you need a scope right now, pick up a vortex viper 6.5-20X50 mil dot! You WILL be pleasantly suprised! If you can wait until spring, get one of the new Vortex Viper PST's. It's about 10 times the scope that the burris is for about 40 bucks cheaper!

I will check out the Vortex, I had not really heard about them till I started reading stuff here. A friend of mine has a GA crusader with the Leupold and it works really well, I am open to other scopes, don't think it would be wise to limit my choices. Thanks.

I agree.
