I’m really impressed with the Burris Veracity PH 3-15x44, but it’s about to take a second trip back to Burris for repair.

Last year the zero stop kept slipping below zero until the screw no longer engaged the small zero stop peg. I sent it to Burris and they repaired it. Fast forward less than a year later and exact same problem is happening again.

The zero stop peg on the turret track is a very small metal peg with the softness of a fishing sinker. When the zero stop screw hits this peg, it slowly deforms it each time. Eventually it gets to where the screw doesn’t hit the peg at all.

Has anyone else had this problem with Burris? I’m wondering if other models have this same zero stop design.

I beleive my xtriii is something similar to this. I think Leupold is it too. I have had my vx5hd for 6 years with no issues. I just got the Burris so we will see.

I’ve owned VX5s. Great scopes and never had issues with their zero stop design. Burris is a tiny metal tab slightly firmer than a split shot fishing sinker. It’s soft metal and a little screw in the turret is what contacts the soft metal tab to act as a zero stop. Over time the screw deforms the tab until it eventually slips and won’t stop.

So I did a deeper dive into the zero stop issue with my Veracity PH. It’s not the metal peg on the turret track but rather the small screw in the turret cap itself. Over time it either deforms or the plastic housing deforms allowing the screw to flex and slip.

I fiddled with it but now I have a $1200 scope that zero stops -0.75 MOA. Annoying.
