I know this may be a weird place for my first post but I'm near giddy having just heard about this little item. I think I'm in love with this scope and I've never even seen a picture of one. What info is out there about these? It sounds like a beast of an optic.

ET45305ZA

And if there is a thread that describes the difference between between the HDMR and it's similar models it would be amazing. Just looking at the descriptions isn't really clearing it up.

Thanks for the help!

EuroOptics, and I can say they will take care of you, they usually do for us hide members, in fact, I bought my rifle, base, rings, and scope from them.

They have badger rings for it, give'm a ring and see what kind of deal you can squeeze out of them.

Thanks Brett, You know I think I last looked at Eurooptics sight about a couple of days ago and didn't see this scope though did look at the Black G2 version. When did they put this up?.....Bushnell doesn't even have this on their site.

I had the black on pre-order since before Christmas, it just so happened that Jason is on the ball, remembered I wanted fde "in a perfect world," happened to have just got them in and hooked me up with what may be the first anyone not "in the know" has had the opportunity to get.
That's also where talking to a human on the phone helps.

Until I get out to the range and actually put up a full review of all this, might as well post a couple of these here... You'll love the amateur look I achieved with the photography, took many years to learn how to make something so simple look so difficult.

When you look at these photos, the last photo especially, you'll think; "huh, doesn't look very big," that is because the knobs on this thing are insanely big, I've never seen anything even close, they are enormous. It is a big, hefty scope. First impressions are good, I'm happy right now. Working the turrets- the clicks are as they need be, you can feel them, not overly hard, not overly soft, they lock so they don't need to be stiff... working the locking feature back down after you adjusted can take a little wiggle, nothing to worry about, but something to point out I suppose. Reticle, I like, this h59 is a cool look, my first jump into something like this, I knew I was a fan of the floating dot already but I was really surprised at the useability of the reticle even on 4.5 power.

Glass will take some more time behind it to hash out, for now, it is very bright and fantastic on low powers, I was surprised at how I could resolve tree bark at close range on high power, but more time needed to really hash out how well this travels the full power range.

Apparently you have not seen the original DMR/HDMR in person.

I, too, thought that scope must be tiny from the pictures I saw until my first one arrived.

The turrets are a little bigger than that of the XRS (I have one of them, too).

Both scopes feel rugged and the DMR has proven itself already.

The FDE looks great, and the H59... it's the $hit if you never want to dial.
It obscures too much of the FOV for my tastes, but it has neat features... the moving target holds and the quick ranging especially, if the BDC matches your round's ballistics... interesting that Horus does not specify what those ballistics are, but I got the impression it was for .308.
In fact, the only place I found the subtensions properly documented was in a manual for one of the rebranded scopes Horus sells.
Let me know if you want that manual.

Let us know how you like it when you get out.

It is for 308.

Brett Wagner:
Thanks for sharing info: Could you post a pic of the reticle on 21x power and then on 30 x, I was hoping to see how much mills are left in the bottom of the scope at each setting for hold overs? Is there any difference at 21x from this XRS scope versus the HDMR reticle size at that power 21x setting ?
Also is your scope the XRS scope ? EuroOptic says its the Elite series is that the same as the XRS?
Thanks

It is the XRS: ET45305GZ The only difference is the letters at the end of the product code that differentiates the reticle version. The "Z" at the end of the product code is what makes it the new version of the 3.5-21x and the XRS 4.5-30.

At 30x, my XRS FOV exposes the 6 mils elevation hash mark out to .5 mils windage before the 6 mils hash is cutoff by the perimeter of the FOV.
At 21x the 8 mils hash mark is visible out to 2.5 mils.

My DMR (first gen 3.5-21) apparently has a slightly larger FOV, with the 8.5 mils elevation hash visible out to 2 mils windage @ 21x.

Wow, If the phone isn't a good one, like you say........How much better can that reticle look in person? I was not a fan of the Horus but I think I better start doing some homework. Great Pics Brett....you sold me!
