Hiders,

End of an era.

Thought you might find this interesting. I have it on good info that the Elite 4200 and 3200 scopes are discontinued for 2011, to be replaced by a new Elite series of scopes. What is happening is that availability of these scopes will rapidly diminish

What we are doing: I am grabbing all the FFP mil/mil Elite 4200 scopes I can find to bring them to you. Quantities are limited and when they are gone, they're gone

FYI

Scott

Any word on whats going to replace them? Hopefully Bushnell will have learned what features they need to add and which ones to keep.

Re: Bushnell Elite 4200 & 3200 scopes discontinued

Wow. The two FFP models are less than a year old aren't they? I've heard mostly good about them, particularly the 3-12. Hopefully whatever replaces them includes a more modern reticle. Please let us know what the word on the street is...

Wow thats big news!

Scott, I know its a bit of an ask but do you think this will cross over into the spotting scope range?

I was looking at purchasing an ELITE spotter over the next few weeks.

I guess in those circumstances its just the glass you worry about... so i wonder if this new Elite replacement will have better quality glass.

I can't wait to see what Bushnell comes up with!

The tactical scope world offerings are looking better all the time

+1, or do something just as stupid and get rid of their FFP scopes. I was thinking of going the 3-12 FFP route but don't have the money for it yet, keeping my fingers crossed they don't screw this up.

I've dealt with their customer service (which was EXCELLENT), and I can't help but think this will be an improvement, and not a set back.

Scott- any rumors on the new direction?

Re: Bushnell Elite 4200 & 3200 scopes discontinued

My only complaint about Bushnell's scope lines is that they always seem pretty long compared to similarly powered scopes from other manufacturers. Also, their tactical turrets are big. Hopefully their new line is more compact and the tactical models have smaller turrets. I've owned a few Bushnells and have generally been pleased with them; especially when considering what I paid for them.

figures, i finally pull the trigger on one of these scopes a few days ago and they get discontinued! ha just my luck. oh well, hopefully the new models are an improvement.

Re: Bushnell Elite 4200 & 3200 scopes discontinued

To all those that bought one the new FFP Mil/Mil 4200 recently, do not despair over their discontinuance.

Don't forget Bushnell (on the 4200 line) has a 1 year "no questions asked warranty". Which puts us in a unique position: To whit, we have scopes now, that we can use, and when the new 2011 models are released, we can see how they look, and if they are an improvement, we can trade in our "used 4200's", within a year for a full refund of our purchase price......

To me, who bought a new 4200 3-12x44mm From Liberty two weeks ago, it puts me in the catbird seat, with nothing but upside....

Just think about it......

Long?? The Bushnell 6-24 tactical FFP is 13.25 inches long compared to a Vortex PST 6-24 FFP which is 15.5 inches long, and a Nightforce 5.5-22 is 15.1 inches long, a Leupy MK4 6.5-20 is 14.5 inches long. The Bushnell tacticals are very compact when compared to other scopes with similar magnification ranges. I guess the knobs are a personal preference but they do seem very solid and have a good feel to them.

Re: Bushnell Elite 4200 & 3200 scopes discontinued

I have been looking at the Bushnell line and several others.
The problem I have is the 1 year warranty.
I have several other scopes that I have shot with for years and over a period of years they too have been sent back due to internal issues but fortunately they have lifetime warranties.
I my case where I don't trade scopes every year, I want lifetime warranty.

It is a lifetime warranty on the 4200's, plus a "one year no questions asked" warranty. You get both.......

It is a lifetime warranty for replacement. I had a problem with one I purchased used, sent it in on Monday, had a new scope on Friday.

The one year is if you want your money back, no questions asked.
