This maybe a subjective question, but for the price of the Bushnell (new or used) what other options are out there excluding the PST line in the price range from $1k-$1.5k.

I'll be honest, ever since this scope came out I've wanted one and now that I'm working on putting a build together for a rifle this is the scope which I'm contemplating and for the sake I'm curious what other scopes are out there in the mag and price range that would be as good or better.

Thanks.

Nathan

The Burris XTR II are good scopes from what I have seen but I have not tested one out yet. The Bushnell 3.5-21x and the 4.5-30x have been great scopes I have been really happy with the Bushnell. We sale both scopes and more so if we can be of help let me know.

Burris XTR II series
Sightron SIII 6-14x50 FFP model (or SFP models if you prefer)
Clearance deals on various Nightforce NXS scopes (all SFP)
SWFA SS 5-20x50mm HD model, with or without illumination

Of those the XTR II and SS are the most similar in features and target market.

You can get some Leupold Mark 4 models in that price range, but they really don't compare feature wise. Although based on your username I am guessing you might qualify for their military discount, which could make a big difference. If you do qualify for Leupold's military or LE discount, check out the Mark 6 3-18x44 as well.

IMO the bushnells are the best in the sub 1.5k category followed by the SWFA's. If you shop around you can get a ERS for $1500 shipped. It has all the goodness of the DMR plus zero stop and nicer feeling 10 mil knobs.

I'd give the Burris some time on the streets before buying one.

Kind of how I've felt honestly...they seem to be the best bang for your buck.

I have a couple of scopes, not as many as I need or want but a few. My precision rifle wears a Bushy 3.5x21 with a G2DMR, zero stop and 0.1mil turrets.

I'm planning on acquiring 3 more of the same scope in the near future as funds permit. I don't see a need to spend more, I think I paid full list for the scope when it had just come out. Yes, right now I have more rifles than scopes.

I don't think you can really beat the Bushnell in that price category. While the Burris interests me I'd sooner pick up another Bushnell given they are so close in price range. I have ERS and XRS and have been very happy with them both. Gonna get another soon. May pick up one of the XTR II 2-10 for my Scar 17 since it's only in the $800 range. I think in that price range it's a lot of scope for the money. When you start getting into the more magnification and higher price range it's Bushnell for me.

i really like my 3.5-21 bushnell but the glass has a weird color to it. i think my 3.5-10 mark 4 resolves better at 10 power. i though the glass was pretty comparable to my weaver 3-15 edmr but the weaver does not have that weird color twinge. i have burris xtr scopes too. they are pretty nice. a lot for prices i have seen used. my two favorites have to be the leupold and the bushnell. the weaver and one of the burris xtr's are out for warranty repair

Bushnell G2DMR 3.5-21x50

I got a bushnell 6-24x50 FFP illuminated reticle. The illuminated reticle didn't work right. It leaked illumination into your field of view when looking through the scope in low light (kinda defeats the purpose of the illuminated reticle in the first place). Almost costed me a hog. Returned it for a vortex viper pst.

I've always been a Nightforce guy (7 or them) but I needed a lower cost alternative for my last big $$$ rifle purchase. i decided to try the Bushnell Elite FFP G2DMR 3.5-21X50 scope and couldn't be happier with it . The glass is close to my Nightforce scopes and tracking is spot on. Is it equal to the Nightforce, no but pretty darn close at half the price it is hard to beat. Much better the the VV PST FFP scopes i own.

i have a dmr g2 and the xrs in hand. these are the best optics for under $1500 period. the g2 reticle is absokutlry awesome. very thin with great hold over tree. locking turrets are great for me. i have always prefered the 5 mil knobs for the wider spacing but the 10mil knobs on the xrs are very nice, posititive and very little slop. the xrs at 30x doesnt get even close to as dark as i had anticipated. thats just a caveat of high magnification most times. the eye box gets a little tighter at full mag but still very forgiving and usable. if you can live without a lit reticle, this is as good as it gets at this price point for a tactical optic.

I think the SWFA 5-20x HD is great. The glass is much nicer than the DMR and anything near its price. Stiff zoom & parallax are the only drawbacks for me, but are easily remedied.
