Here you go guys. excuse the pictures, I never knew it was this hard to get pics of reticles!!!I tried my best, at 21x, it was hard to get the pics without a tripod

This thing is BEEFY. the turrets are HUGE. they have a very nice tactile feel to them, but not too audible. the lock feature is cool. I forgot about it when I first got it and was wondering wtf is going on. very sturdy locks. easy to open and close though.

It didn't come with any instructions or warranty card, or anything like that. Warranty is covered by Bushnell, so you don't have to worry about that.

The H58 is very readable. it's not like a Christmas tree like most say. it's subtle enough. you don't have to zoom in alot to get the numbers/mils.

The glass seems good quality. I've never used anything above a 10x, so at high magnification like 20+ I can't really compare it to other. It doesn't seem as crisp at 21x as it does at 15-18x.

I'm not sure how to say it, but at 21x, very little head movements make it hard to use. it's hard to keep the reticle in the scope? (I'm sure there is a name for it)

I can't give any other info because I'm putting my rifle together, so I haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet. That'll come in a month or so.

anyways, here are the pics, enjoy them. I tried my best with the reticle.

It's the camera. when I had it on 'smart' mode or whatever, it wasn't focusing on the reticle...

when I put it on some other mode, it ended up getting the reticle nicely, but made the pics blue.

I looked through my buddies yesterday. Really nice scope with clear glass and Horus reticle to boot. The turrets are big though but have to be for the locking turret. Really nice scope for the money.

Re: Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 (Just got mine)

I finally got to make a scope comparison between my HDMR, Nightforce nxs 3-15x50, Falcon 5-25x50, and my leupold mark4.
I hate sunny days with heat waves coming off the rooftops

Anyways, i can tell you that my nightforce is the best as far as clarity at 15x and color/brightness. It was almost like looking outside naturally without an optic (if that makes any sense).

The bushnell at 15x was clear too - and for some reason i got a little chromatic stuff going on on some of the objects in the sun, did any of you guys have this?? The color was a tad duller than the nightforce and not as bright as it either. But all in all, i'm pleased - i could make out some details on the shingles on a house in the mid-day sun at 15x (meant to say 21x) out to 336 yds. Even looking at the mirage - there's a difference between the nightforce and bushnell in the detail of the heat waves coming off the roofs in the distance. Maybe I'll give another test at more of a lowlight and report back.

I won't go into the leupold or the falcon... but i can tell you that my leupold wasn't bad either

It is as bright and colorful (i think) as my nightforce - or closer to it as compared to the falcon and bushnell.

Re: Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 (Just got mine)

How much was it and when will it be available to us regular folk?

Also will they add illumination?

You said it's picky about eye placement at 21x or other high end scopes like this at full magnification?

I know you probably didn't direct this question at me... but...
I can add that it is a little picky at 21x - more than my falcon at 25x. But it's manageable...

Re: Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 (Just got mine)

I got mine yesterday and now I wait for Seekins rings. I am very impressed with the scope. If its weight is in any way representative of it's durability then it will be just fine atop anybody's rifle.

This is my second Bushnell, I also have one of the 3-12's FFP and am very happy with that scope as well

+1 for Bushnell

Re: Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 (Just got mine)

yes 21x is full magnification. like cyrekzz said, it's not too bad, it does exist.

and yes! if it's durable as hefty it is, it could take some abuse and get away with it. perfect for a DM.

Re: Bushnell HDMR 3-21x50 (Just got mine)

So I looked last night through all of my scope that i have mounted (HDMR, Falcon, and nightforce nxs) around 8 pm last night. It was pretty overcast and starting to get dark anyways and figured i'd look through all of them again. I focused in on the same house as my previous test 336 yds away.

Maybe it was because of the overcast... but to me, they all looked pretty much the same... all at 15x. The only reason i say 15x is because the nightforce only goes to 15x max. So, i guess maybe lowlight and overcast looking at houses with lights on in the house might not be a good enough test. I did dial up the bushnell to 21x to look at the house, and it was pretty good. I saw no difference between my falcon and my bushnell at 21x. I could make out the vents and stuff on the roof pretty darn clearly (more than enough to shoot it if i had to)

I guess i'll check that chromatic aberration coming off of the reflective surface of the light rocks the next time it's sunny out. Probably when i get home today - 80 degrees and sunny finally here in Minnesota! For a day at least.
