Got a Bushnell HDMR off the board last week. (variable 21x G2) So far it looks like a great scope. I think I may have a issue, when I pull out the windage knob, I can feel a step…I can pull the knob out half way (to the step/notch) to adjust the windage and the knob will rotate and then I can pull it out all the way and you can see the adjustment / index lines. Hard to explain but basically there is a step or a groove on the windage shaft, you can pull it out half way to make quick adjustment (it semi stops because of the step) or you can pull it out all the way and make your adjustment plus see your index markings. I stopped by mile high today and they had just got some new ones in stock and took a look at those and could not feel the notch. I’m sure this isn’t normal, but does anyone else that has a HDMR feel this? If any of this makes sense….

Re: Bushnell HDMR knob issue

i have one, you say it will click JUST AFTER you go past the 'step'? that step is where it is actually no longer "locked in". that is where it is disenguaging from the "gears" (for lack of better terms) that make the turrents lock.
from that step outward, you can adjust yes, and you can continue to pull it out all the way. it won't make a difference. once you push it back in past that point, it shouldn't adjust.
i am pretty sure you are just feeling it disenguage from "the gears"
have fun with it, thats a nice scope for the price and EXTREMEMLY durable. trust me.

thanks, Been flying the last couple days. I'll check it out when I get back. Its just not smooth like the other ones... Hell I could care less as long as it tracks.

Re: Bushnell HDMR knob issue

I just got one of the above mentioned scopes and mine does the same thing as avidflyer. Maybe it will smooth out over time and it doesn't seem to be a real issue.
Can't wait to get this to the range!!

He was the second most OCD guy I know. He was the harshest flight instructor I ever had, but I'm sure I'm a better pilot because of it.

Re: Bushnell HDMR knob issue

I have one with Tremor2. It's the best glass I've ever used which doesn't say much. I too was apprehensive but took the plunge and bought from Larue with QD mount. I've only shot to 800 but it's better than me. Now I am shopping the rifle forum for a new toy.

Sorry btw I don't feel the 2step. Agree it is disengaging the turret lock. I saw a video from Horus and read an article recently discussing scope break-in. It peaked my interest so I tried it. This could solve the 2step.
