Currently debating on buying one of these scopes, but I can’t decide which one as certain details on them are hard to find, I have owned a LRHs gen 1 and while I loved the scope I wasn’t a big fan of the glass as it wasn’t near as good as my US optics b-17 but that’s understandable by the price range…

is there anyone that has owned both and would be able to provide a comparison?

Is the glass in the gen 2 LRHS better than the gen 1?

Also I’m specifically referring to the newer DMr 3 with the G4p reticle

Last question… is there any scopes that would be recommended in 1000 dollar range that are a comparable value?

Thanks!

I can't comment on the LRHS 2, but it seems like it's a different use case to me. I ran a DMR3 for a while and really liked it. Glass was great, tracked perfectly, eyebox is fantastic, and it was a tank. Only complaints were it does tunnel at low mag, and has no illumination.

At around that price range I like the Burris XTR3, either the 3.3-18x50 or the 5.5-30x56. The Athlon Ares ETR's are really solid for a few hundred less at midway right now. The Leupold Mark 4HD series seems to have a lot of fans around that price range.

I have the LRHS2 and the DMR II Pro, the predecessor to the DMR III. Glass on both is very nice. Not ZCo nice, but for the $ very nice. And yes, the glass on the LRHS2 is nicer than the 1st gen models.
