Ive narrowed down my next scope purchase to be a Bushnell Matchpro 6-24x50 or the Arken EPL-4 6-24x50. This will be going on a 300wsm alpine rifle for hunting 200-800m.

Before i pull the pin on either scope has anyone had any experience with both and can sway me either way? From the videos ive seen the Arken even with ED glass dosent have as good CA control compared to the Bushnell.

Are there any other scopes i should be looking at in the $300-$400 range? Not fussed on FFP or SFP

The Match Pro is the clearer glass with a sharper image even at top magnification. It also has a better resale value once you get ready to move up in glass.

If you can swing it, both of the new Match Pro EDs are absolute game changers. Haven’t used the 3-18, but own the match pro 6-24 & 5-30 ED.

They are killer values and aren’t too far behind my G3 razor or Zeiss 6-36s.

Thanks for the info mate, just the kind of reply I was searching for. Bushnell may get the nod

I can’t recommend either scope, but I can strongly recommend you NOT buy the Arken EPL-4 6-24x50… I have one I got the day they came out. It lived on one of my .22’s for about a week, then I removed it, because it is a POS. Now it lives in the scope scrap bin.

Why such a high magnification scope for hunting?
You are far better off going down in magnification and will likely get better glass as a result.
High magnification and low price do not go together.
My hunting rifle wears a 2.5-15 power scope.
If you are okay with MOA/MOA, I highly suggest you look at the Athlon Midas HMR 2.5-15 MOA scope.
It is a bit more than your budget, but the glass is very good, the reticle is an excellent design for hunting, the illumination is awesome.
@gr8fuldoug may be able to help you out. It would be well worth th extra 80 bucks.

What else do you have in that scrap bin?
I need a few cheap scopes for some rifles that hardly ever get shot.
