butch's bore shine

will it harme a chrome lined barrel. i have used it and its good stuff but, ive heard it can muff up the chrome. i also have some kroil. will kroil work on copper as well as butch's.

Think about what a chemical can do to you if chrome fails to stand up.

I have never hurt my chrome barrels by using butch's. That being said, you don't have to use a tremendous cleaner to get chrome clean. Kroil or hoppes works well for chrome and usually cheaper.

Kroil is a penetrating oil, not a copper solvent, doubt it will clean out copper. Butches is very good for copper, but I have never used it in a chrome barrel so cant comment

Chrome is hard...Butches won't hurt it. After I get the copper out, I then give the barrel a coat of Kroil. I push a clean patch thru it right before my next range session.

I don't think I've ever had a copper problem with a chrome lined barrel. In any case, Butch's has had no negative effects on my unlined barrels, so I can't imagine that it would hurt a chrome lined barrel, if used properly.

Still, I don't see the need for it with a chrome lined barrel. I clean my chrome lined barrels with Slip 2000 EWL, which is also the lube that I use.

I'm using Bore Tech Eliminator on my FN A3G (chrome lined) and it has done an excellent job of removing copper and carbon.
