Buttstock cheek rest/cartridge holder for 700P?

What do you guys use? Also, does the added ammo in the cartridge holder (308 for my case) help with recoil at all?

If you're relying on extra weight to manage your recoil...

You'd need a lot more. : )

I haven't brought out my 700 to the range yet, but coming from a C&R crowd (M44 carbine shooting 762x54R with steel buttplate), I think the recoil cell pad is more than enough to make shooting comfortable

It was more wondering why people use cartridge holders for their rifles

Steel buttplates can be pretty brutal, I know! I used to have a bunch of Lee-Enfields.

Nice! I have one myself, shoots very well with iron sights. Only problem is the complete lack of surplus ammo. I ended up using PPU a lot, found cheap at gun shows. What'd you end up using?

Whatever I could get!

I ended up selling mine off when I moved to the UK, ironically enough. Thought it was going to be permanent, but it wasn't, and I wish I still had them.
