Suppressors Buying NFA items like an M60

--- I know this isn't a suppressor, but there isn't a forum for MG's that I found and this seems most related as it is an NFA item ---

I am considering buying a transferable M60 (and/or maybe an m16). I've got the transfer part figured out from my suppressor experience. Does anyone experienced in MG purchases have good advice on where to find more info on the process and how/where to buy one?

Example things:

1. Good questions to ask or things to look for to know if it is one I want to avoid or it is a good example of one and taken care of.
2. What outlets to buy these types of things at? Dealers that aren't just trying to rip you off and or places to buy ones from private sellers?
3. Any updated price guide or way to get a ballpark estimate of what the fair going rates are? The machinegunpriceguide website stopped updating after 2019
4. Any other advice

Pretty easy to find the dealers that sell NFA weapons. The transfer process does weed out the common internet scams, as ownership of these items is well established. A quick search brings up the most well known sellers. Like all firearms, the value is what someone is willing to pay, regardless of the "Blue Books". A advantage of buying the more common weapons is a wealth of information written about them. Small Arm Review is a excellent source. Here's one of the popular venders.

I did find 2 or 3 of the largest sellers, as you did, by google searching. But figured there were a few other places. I did find a few other places since. But advice from experienced individuals before spending 60k is always appreciated!
