VERY few places. You can try the range in Dulzura. They are friendly and have a 300 yard range.

For long range rifles, there are very few places:
The North County Shootist Association (NCSA) range on the Pala Indian reservation has steel targets back to 885 yards. The highpower group at Pala has a long range match on the 4th Sunday of every month. Arrive around 8:30 and the match starts at 9 AM.

The Santa Margarita Gun Club is at the Marine ranges on Camp Pendleton. Matches are open to registration, but to shoot on practice days you must be a member. For all matches, you MUST be pre-registered or you won't be allowed on base.

There is also the Imperial Valley Rifle and Pistol Association. Their range is around Seeley in the Imperial Valley and goes to I think 800 or 900 yards.

I'm a member at Pala and it's a nice range with nice people. I'm also a member at the South Bay Rod and Gun Club and I shoot there for the NRA Highpower matches on the 2nd Sunday of every month or the reduced range Palma matches on the 3rd Saturday.
