CAA Double mag holder question

I acquired one of these double mag holders, CAA brand:

Dumb question - do both mags face the same direction or do you put one in upside down like the old Vietnam days when soldiers duct taped their mags like that.

Just dug it off the safe and thought I should use it or sell it...

I've never used the product, but by looking at it I would say keep the mags facing the same direction. I don't see how trying to flip a magazine around with one hand would allow for any kind of efficient reload. My uncoordinated self would end up with two mags on the deck.
